I TOOK MY TRUNK OFF THE 2 BOLTS ON EACH BAR AND MY RIGHT SIDE SEEMS TO BE STUCK AND I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET IT UNSTUCK ANY1 THAT HAS A SUGGESTION ID APPRECIATE IT, FRANK:confused:
The only thing I can think of is maybe the bar is rusted in the slot it is bolted into. Maybe a couple firm (but gentle) rapps of a rubber headed mallet on the place where the bar is inside the underside webbing of the trunk lid will loosen it up a bit. Hope this helps. -Corbin
I don't think it's actually stuck. I believe that if you check you'll notice that this is the side of the trunk hinge which is under tension from a "spring bar". The purpose of this bar is to take up some of the load of the trunk lid, in order to make it easier to overcome it's weight when you lift it open. Since you've taken the considerable weight of the trunk off of it, it now seems immobile, but don't try to force it down, or you will have to reset the "spring bar", or whatever it's called. Maybe someone would care to confirm this? I've yet to re-install my trunk, but went thru the same panic when I first saw this hinge sticking up on one side. John B.
