Here are a couple of photos of my Maverick model projects. Eventually they will be finished to look like our real cars. We just need to decide what color my son wants to paint his real '72 before we can actually finish the model. He's leaning toward orange, so the model will be easy since it's already that color. The other won't be exactly like my '73 because of the small bumper, but it'll be close enough. I just have to find the right shade of blue to paint it.

The one with the wheels is a Johan pro-stock Maverick. I bought other models to grab parts from so I can put the correct stuff into it. (302 V8, Cragar SS wheels, seats, etc...) The model originally came with a hood that had a huge scoop on it. I cut the scoop off & filled the hole, but I couldn't get it exactly right. I recently found a resin stock hood for it. That's what is on it in the photo.

When we bought the '72, the idea was to have a car to go wild on (more or less). We really like the way orange looks on the Mavericks (fan2488, Charlie Ping), but we've also talked about silver. I guess we won't decide for sure until the paint is bought. We've got a long way to go with that car until it gets painted anyway. So it'll be brown (and primer) for a while. It'll be fun to cruise it as a "beater".
