maverick power steering on a mustang

My uncle has a 1966 Mustang with a 289 4 speed. It has manaul steering and he wants to convert it to power steering. I was wondering if you could use the steering box and pump off a maverick on it

 

Nope. The Mustang gear box has an integral shaft about 3 feet long going up the column tube.

 

I believe torinos shared the same gear box. Somebody with more knowledge on the subject please step in at anytime....

The pump and the ram might be the same. You wouldn't have to change the box unless you wanted the quicker ratio , but I could be wrong on that....
