I noticed that my machanical fuel pump is leaking gas on my 250 cid. I clamped off the fuel line for tonight until I can get a new one in the morning. Looks pretty simple, just a hose, compression fitting and two bolts.

Is it really that easy? any special tips I should know?

    Thank you.

Yep. Did one in mom's Fairmont and it took about 15 minutes.

Thats good, thanks and hey I like your grabber!
Is it tricky getting the lever arm in the right position? above or below the cam?

    Thanks.

For me, the pump went straight in without the slightest problem.

If your pump has leaked into the pan. You should change the oil. Give the dipstick a sniff for fuel.

got it installed, was very easy. I ordered a used Chiltons manual for stuff like this but it has not come in yet. Thanks for the advice everyone. And I did change the oil as well as a precaution.
