    hood + grill

I have a pristine grill that I got for my 73 GT a long time ago. No breaks and the parking light lenses are really nice. I am also taking the hood off of my girl friend's 77 Comet, as I found a rust-free one. Hers has some minor holes appearing in the front, that we were going to repair, until I found this one in Ga. I used to have a perfet one for my car, until it was stolen! $75 for each + shipping.

I was starting to lose hope but you have come through for me. I have one dilemma though. I have to talk to my insurance adjuster to see if I can get the body shop to buy the parts that I find or if they have to find them and purchase them from someone that they find. I wont be able to talk to her until monday. So keep a hold on that grill for me (Pleeeaaasse) and I will get back to you. .

    hood and grill

There was a Comet GT hood for sale at Carlisle last week.
I knew I should have bought it. While I was at it, I should have purchased BOTH of the Comet grills for $30 each. And I will probably kick myself for not buying the NOS hood molding for $50.

By the way, I have seen the Comet GT scoops on E-bay go from $75-$140. Tony Branda Mustang/Shelby carries reproductions for $120. I am not 100% certain on the bolt holes, but they are the same scoop. The same scoops were used on the Cougar Eliminators and Mercury Cyclones in 69/70 & 68/69 respectively.

Been there! I'll wait to hear back from you. The hood has the front molding and the Merc ornament. The ornament chrome isn't bad, but the plastic insert has fallen inside. You'll have to take it apart and reset it with some glue.
