if i were to put 15's on my 74 maverick would i have to do anything to the suspension? what about the speedo? my dad keeps saying i need an adapter plate to go up to the 15's but i dont belive it..whats the deal? im looking to get the wheels and tires soon. im gonna go with american racing tailgunners. i like the look and the price. im gonna use it as a daily driver so i dont wanna have to worry about anything when i have to park it and leave it somewhere.

ps. sorry for the double post i felt no one was looking at the post i listed these questions in.

I don't know why you would need one, or what adapter plate he is speaking of. I went directly from a 14 inch rim to a 15 - no mods other than the wheels. As far as the speedo goes, it won't change it very much. With the bigger wheels and lower (shorter sidewall) tires on my car it runs the same speed as the smaller wheels with bigger sidewall tires. If you are real concerned about it you can have someone calculate what gear you need to use, and have it put in. Unless it's a huge, radical tire size change I think it won't change your speedometer reading more than a few mph in either direction. Hope this helps a little, and I am sure someone else can help you.

    Re

Do you have a 4 lug rearend, I dont know if they make a 15" wheel for that unless you go aftermarket.
