The mav is gone but i'm still here!
what are some good mufflers for a 95 Tbird LX with a 4.6L SOHC

i want something that will improve power/economy but i don't want a loud ass car neither.

I have a pair of 40-Series Flowmasters on my mav that are a direct fit for the Tbird but i think they will be too loud.

    thanks

The 97 F-150 we had with the 4.6 sounded realy good with 40 series flowmasters on it.

Not overly loud at idle and didn't get obnoxious at all w/ higher RPM

you sound like you would really like a set of 2-1/2" BORLA PRO XS.

I have had some experience with them. Stainless construction. straight through design. surprisingly quiet for a muffler you can look straight through. Less than $100 each. Great performance, quiet but deep.

I have Dynomax Ultraflo's on my Maverick. They sound somewhere between the pro xs and a 2 chamber flowmaster.

i like borlas but they're a bit out of my price range, i can get flowmasters and magnaflows for $20

but i think i'll go turbo route, my uncle put a cherry bomb Turbo II muffler on his falcon and it sounded good.I got a clip and i'll post it up for you 6-CYL guys.

Watch ebay for new Mustang muffler take-offs. Muffler shop has to weld new pipe going in, but a great sounding muffler!

Don't gut the cats if you run Flows. The 4.6 w/the mufflers all the way at the back w/o cats is very raspy, not good sounding at all.Keep the cats or go w/something like a Magnaflow or Dynomax.
