The other side of the car is hard to get at, but is worse than this by a little. IF I pop the trunk, I can see ground from the front corner on the left and right side (down in the pocket where the quarter panel meets the floorpan, that seem) anyhow, it goes from that corner panel, and continues to the back.

I looked under the rest of the car, and this is the only rust on the whole car. I would prefer not to replace the entire quarter panel if possible. Can I just weld new bottoms on, how to fix, what do you guys thinK???

You don't need to replace the entire quater panel. All you need to do is cut out the rusted area and weld in a patch panel to replace the part you cut out. If you know how to work metal, you can make your own patch out of 20 gage steel. If you are lucky, maybe you can find a good quarter panel on a junked Maverick and cut out what you need. Do you plan to do the job yourself or have a bodyshop do it?

I don't have a clue about body work. I once tried to pull a dent out of my dodge dart with a dent puller, poor thing looked Like it had been driven through south central LA in a drive by, then I tried to primer the thing, and it wound up looking like someone had dumped a huge bucket of paint on my car and let it dry drip marks and all.

I've gotta leave this one to the pro's

In that case, it would be better to have someone with autobody experiance do the job. One thought that comes to mind is to check out any local Vo-Tech schools that have an autobody coarse. From what I hear the students can do the repairs at a very reasonable price and do the job right.
