I didn’t wanna steal someone's thread or change the conversation so I started a new one. If it’s in the wrong section go ahead and move or delete it. I though some of you would like to know more about my Falcon that I’m working on. The car was purchased new by my Dad in Jan ’60 and handed down to me in ‘71. I replaced the 6 cylinder with a 289 from a parts car a friend gave me. I traded other parts to get the parts I needed to complete the swap. I never thought that I would still have this car some 37 years later or I would have took better care of it and not cut the wheel wells. I did keep most of the original papers like the Bill of Sale, Sale Contract, Title, Bank Receipts and Tag Receipts. I have a few receipts from the Parts stores form 1967 and '69

The engine is a '64 5 bolt 289 with '68 302 heads. An Erson cam with roller rockers and 1.94/1.60 valves. Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor an old school Edelbrock Tarantula manifold. Red's Tri-Y headers and 2 1/2" exhaust pipes. A Hurst Competition Plus shifter and close ratio Toploader, custom Driveshaft, 9" K-Code Rear End with 3:25 to 1 gears. Griffin radiator with dual electric fans and electric water pump.

The Smoke Blue 6-way power bucket seats came from a '86 Cougar. The sun visors with vanity mirror came from a '93 Cougar. The '97 Oldsmobile rear view mirror has the built in compass display it also features automatic dimming. I replaced the vacuum wiper motor with an electric 2 speed motor and added intermit delay wipers from an '86 F-150. Disc brakes from a Granada bolted up to the '63 V8 suspension. For safety a dual bowl master cylinder from a '89 Mustang. Global West sub frame connectors, Mustang front shocks and American Racing Torq-Thrust D Wheels and BFGoodrich Radial T/A Tires give the look and feel that I was looking for.

I know some of you are thinking what’s up with a Falcon on a Maverick forum. Well if it wasn’t for the Falcon there would be no Maverick. If you like to see more go to http://1bad6t.com

    :Welcome:

Nice! I think everyone around here likes Falcons, I don't see why would it be wrong to show us your badass Falcon.

Yeah, the Maverick community knows the Maverick's roots even more than Mustang guys. Thanks for sharing the pics! Brought back some memories of my grandpa's Falcon.

Well, I do have to say that the post belongs in "Other Automotive Tech & Talk". I'm sure one of our moderators will move it there if they see fit.

That said, I love it! Damn nice car! Awesome story behind it that your dad bought it new. You bringing it up to Fun Ford? Would love to see it in person.

Actually, The Maverick was suppose to the Falcon for 1970! But the name was changed at some point, I have some books from Ford showing the Maverick with Falcon emblems. Cool car, I've always like them!!

Nice Falcon!(y) That is what I was looking for to start with, and my son came home one day telling me about a some kind of Ford that the name started with a "C". I thought and thought about it, asking him what it looked like, nameing every Ford and Mercury I could think of. I went and looked at it, turned out to be a 74 Comet, and that started me on this whole deal....

Jamie, something was telling me it was the wrong forum when I was looking for a place to post. For some reason I didn't see "Other Automotive Tech & Talk" until I made the post. I was going to delete it but didn't see how. I guess I could make up an excuse like- I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. It wasn't my fault.

302mav76, You wouldn’t believe how many Mustang boys I run across who will want to fight about that statement. I'm glad to hear y'all Maverick guys know your roots. I hope I didn't come off sounding like a “know-it-all”.

I want to thank everyone on their comments and letting me hang around with you on this great forum even though I don't own a Maverick. I am learning some new neat tricks that I can use in my resto-mod quest. I hope somebody can find something useful I done to my Falcon to use on their Maverick. You guy and gals are great.

I usually just like to blame it on other people. It's always my brothers fault. :biglaugh: But I do love that car. Hope to see it around at Fun Ford or some other show. (y)
