They do,last I heard(from a dedicated tuner) who knows his stuff, they still do.Did mine around 1986/87.First one had a 283 and the stock 5 spd datsun tranny.Second one had a 355 and a th 350 trans(some hump hammering was necessary)third had a Built 400 and a powerglide(called it the widow maker)Made 4 passes at L.A.C.R.and the guy with the dual quad 427 4 spd 69 chevelle I spanked bought it from me right on the spot after the race.Fastest 9K I ever made.It was doing very traction limited 11.40s' with no real tune and a 3:23 chunk. It was street legal too accept for the whole emissions thing.Pics are gone:cry:Lost 5 photo albums full of pics.Cars, places I had been while in the navy, carrier ops on the coral sea/Nimitz/Ranger and Uss Constellation.Never let the Govt move your stuff once you muster out.

I do have an interesting story about my navy buddies right hand drive Fairlady Z that he brought over from Japan with him when he changed duty stations.

I love those early Z cars. I had a couple, my brother's owned several... I don't think it's Nismo that makes the SBC swap kit, but a similar name: http://www.motorsportauto.com/

I remember my brother used to have this piece of junk green one, '76 I think, with a home ported old style head, 280ZX NA bottom end, ZX turbo EFI and manifolds, (there was never a 240/260/280Z stock turbo; only a 280ZX which was much heavier) also an upgraded junkyard T3/T4 hybrid turbo, Grand National injectors. Welded spider gears. I don't think he ever washed it, it the wheels and tires were dirty and worn out. It had an intercooler from an old Pontiac GTP and I swear to God it had PVC pipe on that intercooler straight from Home Depot. The thing was just stupid fast. He embarassed a lot of people and shut a lot of loud mouths with that.

Awesome little cars and I don't think I've ever driven anything else that corners like one.
