This is what my second oldest son bought yesterday for a project... It was an old cowboy's truck that showed up here a little over 20 years ago and the rancher bought from the old guy and Dan used to drive it all over hauling hay and out dinking around in the fields. He bent the frame at one point and put it on a 64 or 65 frame. Has some rust issues in a few place but over all a pretty solid ol' truck. and it does run still too. I think he kind of stole it for $250.00
Looks like a pretty good old truck. Those 240's will run forever! Keep us updated on the progress with it. Should be in other automotive tech and talk. A moderator should move it soon.
Second time I have had a chance to brag...we have what I think is a 61 truck out at the ranch. It is fun to drive with 3 or 4 on the tree, the ones you actually SHIFT with the column, and a clutch. What is that called?
Sweet truck! PM me if you need some sites to visit and places to get parts for it. I've loved F-100's ever since my 1st '77 when I was 15. Usually a lot of words I can't repeat on here when the column jams between gears while you're in the middle of traffic! Yep, Been there - Done that - HATED IT!!! Usually it's referred to as 3 on the tree. -Scott H.
Those fords do not fit on 64 65 frames correctly... From my research that i have been doing with my 64... 64-66 are a few inches longer.
Bodies are the same '61-66, only difference is '65 or '66 was first year for twin I beam. All the earlier had staight axle front end.
