    Shame on you!!

    I meant I bought her a convertible

I've been looking for a cheap, fun project car for her.....Will give us something to tinker with over the winter for next spring/summer.

Just have to hook the trailer to the sleigh and go get it!

http://vb.foureyedpride.com/index.php is a great forum for the older fox body cars. I've got an '80 Capri RS, and I post on there every now and then.

Great little cars. Ours has the 2.3 4 cyl AOD combo, gets 26-28 MPG. Parts are fairly easy to find, though some are convertible only. Fun to go topless when the temps are nice! Pic is in sig below \/

    I second that forum suggestion.

I post there sometimes and I have a '80 Mustang

Looks like the point is moot. I'm getting hosed on an ebay purchase....AGAIN.

I suspect the car didn't bring enough and the seller is just ignoring me hoping I'll go away.

auction was "No reserve", and the seller even stated so in his description....also stated he had the right to end auction any time, but he didn't.....and I won the auction.....

    I e-mailed him three times....no reply....no purchase invoice,.....nothing

There was a $100 PayPal deposit due within 48 hours of auction close.....that 48 hours is up in a few hours.....I'm tempted to go ahead and make the deposit to press the issue.....but I'm using a friend's PayPal account, so that'll probably confuse or screw things up worse in a dispute, it not being my account.

This was a present for my wife, and she was so excited and happy about getting it....she gave up her job and all her (our) free time to care for a live-in invalid parent for the last 5 years, she (we) have had little, if any time, things to ourselves, and she's run herself ragged with the constant care her mom requires... and this was a bright, shining, much needed "break", something for her to look forward to, something she and I and the boys could work on together.....sort of a "The sun will come up tomorrow" thing....

all ruined now because of yet another of what seems to be an ever growing number of cheat, liars and jerks on ebay.

    %&^#!*#!! I'm so freaking P.O'd!

funny (not!!) you can breeze through 50 mundane ebay purchases for cool, but no-big-deal stuff.....but let it be a big, important, meaningful purchase.....it seems to inevitably end up in You're Screwedville.

I knew it was too good to be true.....but I had really, really hoped....

I guess I need to quit doing that.

You better make some sort of deposit, as if you don't, your actually the one thats defunct on the transaction...

Maybe he's tryign to get you to do that so he can leave negative for you and then resell the car

Maybe the powers that be heard my rant and took pity upon me.

I went ahead and made the deposit, then got an e-mail from the seller....

Deer hunting....I forgot how hunters put deer season over all other things! LOL

    The deal is good! :yahoo::thumbs2::Handshake:bananaman

Please all, forgive my previous whining.

Now all I have to worry about is finding a day with no snow or bad weather in the forecast to make the 330 mile trip up to get it!

Yup, I thought the same thing.

BTW, have you heard that sellers can't leave neg feedback for buyers anymore?

Doesn't really seem fair to sellers who get screwed, but they can still file non-paying bidder complaints. I guess it was ebay's way of dealing with bad sellers leaving undeserved retaliatory negs on good buyers.

I think they can still leave negative of some sorts, it's just harder to do so.

I haven't had to deal w/ that at all, but I agree for part of the reasoning behind it. (seen alot of people get retaliation feedback)
