I rmember reading in one of the "New products" / "New stuff" / "Latest gadgets" section of one of my car magazines where one of the big cam companies had come out with an "Old school" type cam,....a special new grind that gives you the classic big lopey idle, but with modern engineering and technology that doesn't rob the vacuum presure that affect things like PS, brakes overall drivability that the old "Rumpty-rump" cams we so infamous for.

Like "Energizer", "Magnum" "Fireball", etc. it had a catchy name, I just can't rmember what it was, or which maufacturer made it, Crane, Comp Cams, Cam Dynamics, etc.

Anyone got a clue for the forgetful clueless?

    Thanks all, You nailed it.

Dave was on the right track, It was VooDoo cams that got me to thinking of what I'd read about before. I think we're going with a VooDoo for the son's Chevelle wagon

But I was wanting some serious lope and thumpn for my Maverick and Galaxie....

    Big Mutha' Thumpn! :thumbs2:

    Thanks again

Anyone have any 1st or 2nd hand personal knowledge/experience with the Thumprs?........running one or know someone who does?

Joe Sherman says he was pleasantly surprised by the amount of power the Thumpers made on his dyno.
