I have the stock leaf springs with a couple of extra leafs from a chevy truck.... I know I said the ch word. I didnt have enough money at the time to buy stiffer of newer ones. I have those air shocks that are adjustable by an air hose. The previous owner had installed them so I left them on. right now they are fully extended to compensate the sidepipes(they scrape on speed bumps if I lower the shocks). Anyway, when i stomp on the gas the tires squeal for a while then hop and lose traction then squeal then hop again. I've never used traction bars so I'm asking if that would solve my problem. Also, would having my shocks fully extended be a cause of this problem? Thanks in advance. Adam

With that many leafs I wouldn't think wheel hop should be a problem. Before adding bars I would check that the u-bolts are tight, the leafs are clamped together correctly, and the pinion angle is correct (rear end pinion down 2 - 4 degrees compared to the tranny). Make sure when the leafs were added that the plastic inserts were included between them. The springs won't work properly if they can't slide.

    Slapper bars

Best $35.00 you'll ever spend if you don't mind seeing them hanging down there.
    They really do work wonders.
