Hey, I know where 4 of these 2000 Explorer rims are dirt cheap.
They are 16x7 with 4" BS.
The ones I am looking at are in aftermarket boxes and brand new.
The owner put aftermarket rims on the Explorer when it was just days old and these rims have been stored since.
I was thinking some nice 26" tall tires and these would look good on a Maverick.
I borrowed some rim pics off eBay and pasted them on my Sprint.
    What ya think?

    Thanks
    Dave

Hey, you are a Pinto fan... Your opinion doesn't count. :tiphat:

    Just joking!
Thanks for your honesty TL.

I had already shot the idea down myself, until I did this quick cut and paste.
They look better than I imagined. I pictured them in my mind looking much cheezy-er.

Here is a pic of what they look like close.
They are machined aluminum with silver paint in the backround. Then the lug covers look like polished stainless on the set I am looking at.
In this pic, they almost look Beige. Not the ones I am considering.

Make sure they are not a metric bolt pattern. I'm not sure on the Explorers, but I know on the newer F150's they went to a metric bolt pattern and the older F150 wheels won't fit. I tried one from my 84 and it wouldn't fit my 99, but one from my son's 68 was the same as the 84.

Exactly what I was going to say. I bet they are metric. My dad's '95 Mustang GT had a flat one time (same bolt pattern as our Mavericks), and I was going to use the spare from my mom's 2002 Taurus since the space saver spare in the Mustang was flat from not being used in so long. The Taurus wheel had a metric pattern, and wouldn't fit.

I think the wheels would look ok on a Maverick, but you better check the lug pattern first.

Explorer is still a 4.5" bolt circle.Taurus was always metric, same as Probes & '89-up T-birds.I personally don't like them,I think TT2s,Pro Stars, slots or dogpans/rings would look better on the Sprint. If you're not crazy about them, don't get them just because they're a screamin' deal. After the good deal wears off you'll be stuck w/a set of wheels you really didn't want anyway.

The rims are listed as 114.9mm bolt pattern.
I thought that sounded goofy, so I checked Tirerack.com and they list all (as in any year) Explorers, Rangers, and Sport-tracs as 5 on 114mm.
So I know it will fit.
If they list a 92 Ranger as 5 on 114, and 92 Ranger rims fit 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern, they are the same. 114.9mm must just be the metric conversion of 4.5".
I have seen pics here of 92 Ranger rims on a Mav or Comet.

I don't think they work either.
That being said, they do look better than I had pictured in my head.
Maybe it's just the whole Sprint thing.
I might mess around and paste them on another Mav.
I apoligize in advance if I happen to use a pic of your Mav or Comet... ;)

Here's a solid color Mav with 'em.
To the owner of the car:
    Sorry for the crappy chop-n-paste!
I picked this pic because it is a good angle and a nice clean Maverick.
