Today there was a 1974 Comet sedan delivered to my house. She will be a fine addition to my collection.

White on pea soup 4 door.
    250 1bbl C4 automatic.
    Deluxe trim package.
    Disc brakes.
    Power steering.
    Glove box.
    Bench seats.

Been sitting untouched in a barn in the mountains for a very long time. The brakes still work and the antique maypops even hold air. The Montgomery Ward battery suddgest it has sat about 20 years. Has the original title, 1 owner car. 44K . Sureley that's 144K?. Nope. This thing is a time capsule. There is still factory plastic carpet protector under the floor mat.
Intireor is immaculate (although puke green) so far the only rust I've found is surface where paints gravel blasted off. And the right rear has cancer. Bad rear glass seal.

Right front fender is not only missing the trim and emblem, the holes are gone. I don't see signs of repaint. So this fender must have come off another white car, but without the trim package. All 4 spoked hubcaps are in the trunk. Came with a set of brand new bias plys with stickers. Couple extra rims.

I'll post some pics when I remember how.
    What a find.

Kewl, low milage examples are still hidin' out there.

Green interiors were popular in the '70s

I was tryin' to be nice.

Bought a new house in '71 that had a avocado kitchen, incl built in oven & range top, even then I wasn't thrilled with shade. Unfortunately was last of the floor plan we liked, so we bought it. Painted our Coppertone refrig avocado.

I'll get some good before and after pics. Before I do anything else, or even pick up a wrench. She needs a bath. And a much deeper assessment.

My childhood home had a wonderfully taky avocado and fake marble kitchen. Maybe that's why this intireor is growing on me fast.
