The Tire Rack catalog has the new MSW Wheels, and two models come in 14". These are really nice looking, but they are 5 lug. What is involved in changing from 4 lug to 5 lug? Is it worth it. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...wheelModel=Type+15&wheelFinish=Silver+Painted Any other suggestions for wheels for my 1973 Grabber? I just bought brand new Firestone Indy 500 tires in 205/70/14. Roz
No problem roz.......we all learn something new every once in awhile.Personally.....I don't think those wheels would look good on your car. I would go with a chrome Magnum 500 type wheel. That way you can keep your tires.
70 refers to the "aspect ratio" and is a pretty standard one. I think it means the width is 205 making the height of the sidewall half of 205*70/100=143.5 or 71.75 EDIT: This is all in millimeters by the way.
front wheel drive offset... won't work unless you get adapters IMO don't get them not right for the car you can get a knock off TQ Thust for about the same price.
I always thought it was the width is 205mm and the 70 was 70% of the 205 to give you the sidewal hieght? But I have been wrong before
You may be correct. I have 195/70R14's on mine so I can check later. I just thought that 143.5 sounded a bit tall for the sidewall so I was guessing there.
Actually the 70 means the height is 70 percent of the width and a 50 series tire will be 50% of the width. Thats why a 235-50 is much shorter than a 235-80 such as on many trucks even though both are 235 wide.
