i was very thankful when i found out that someone was actually making a maverick toy car and when i found and small stockpile at my local walmart i went crazy. i like the red, white and yellow but what about a blue one. my car's orignal color is bright blue poly and will be painted in the near future. well, now there is a blue one! i got bored one night and completely dis-assembled a white fresh cherry maverick and went from there. see the results for yourself :D

fairly simple. just unscrew the bottom and remove: once removed it will expose the internal. the dash and windows are riveted so a drill and bit will be needed to remove the top of the rivet (be gentle). as far the front and back bumper & etc., the ends are just melted plastic. i took my hobby knife and gently cut the melted end off. once removed, just dis-assemble, strip, prime and paint. during re-assembly, i just used super-glue in all riveted and melted/bonded locations. hope this helps (y)

Cool, Thanks mean mav. I figured that was the way to do it. I wanna paint one green, drop the front a bit and tub it using other hotwheels' parts as donors.

I put on some wheels off a Dub City Classic Caddy. They are a perfect fit and not too large like some of the other cars. I did that the first day I got my Fresh Cherries, I couldnt wait to see what it would look like. Its killer!

Had some spare time today thanks to the weather. Decided to do another Mav real quick. Thought I would share with you guys. Also included a HW Chevy truck with a custom paint job a did a while back.

The red Mav was alot more work than the yellow Mav. The yellow one I simply removed the screws from the base and put the wheels on. The Red one I did the same but had to cut the area out on the base for the bigger rims and tires (which were off of a Dub City Corvette) and narrow the axles front and rear. The Cowl hood is body filler that was shaped into a cowl hood scoop, then painted it flat black.

Amazing work how'd you accomplish the narrowing of the axles How did you make it so the wheels stay on?
