Hello, I am looking at these tires for the rear of my Maverick. Does anyone here have an opinion? For me this is not about looks, but whether the tires will hook up on the street. I am no particular fan of the BFG or Hoosier d.o.t. drag radials. Proposed tire size is 315/50R 15. I'm tubbing out the rear wheel wells and using a narrowed 9" Ford rear end so body clearance is not an issue. Wider tires would be O.K., but wheel width over 10" is an issue. 15 X 10 wheels are available from Weld with the Ford pattern and at about $ 170.00 each are not brutally expensive. Also, I would like to keep the wheel/tire diameter to 28 inches or below. Even if you like the Goodrich or Hoosier or some other tires over against the Nitto's, I would appreciate your help and toughts. David
im really happy with my m/t drag radials. i had the nittos on my mustang about 7 years ago and was happy with them, but times have changed.
My uncle used to have M/T's on his 11 second 69 Roadrunner, he swears by 'em. Hell if it's good for a car that is Mostly Old Paint And Rust, it should be good enough for a Ford haha jk
A mini-tub job with scalloped frame rails will let you run a 325 tire with ease. I've got 325-15 M&H drag radials (on 15x10's) on my Mav, but it's just now on the road, still a bit away from testing the "hook"... Russ
