On Sunday, the 8th, my trusty Mav and I made our trek down to Vallejo to meet up with the other Fords at the Fun Ford Sunday show. I got only a couple responces from other Mav and Comet owners here in NorCal saying they might go, but as it turned out, no one could make it down. That's okay though, I made the best of it anyway! I got to the show with no problems, and right upon pulling into the gate, the comments started flying. Driving to my parking spot, I overheard someone comment on how the Maverick bodystyle was not bad looking, and another about how that's the only nice Mav he has seen in a long time. Lots of other people stopped and checked it out during the day, and I talked with quite a few people about how they had Mavs, or want to fix some up. This one older man was very interested, and he had always wanted to do a Maverick, but at the moment he was doing Falcons. He was very interested and a pleasure to talk to. Another Mav owner stopped by, and it turned out that my Dad knew him through work! This man had purchased the Sprint some of you may have remembered I looked at a while back. He is fixing it up, and was glad to talk to someone he kind of knew, and who had built a Mav. He lives real close, too. A few people picked up the MCCI forms, and hopefully we will get some more members here in NorCal. Phone numbers were exchanged and pics were shown. It was a great time. One of the most memorable things a woman said was how she used to have Mavericks and was trying to get her son to get one. Of course, she said, he wanted a Mustang, but she's firmly trying to convince him to get a Mav!! Her husband commeted on how the Mav sure would be fun with a big block - A little scary is more like it! Another highlight was my car was announced over the intercom as being a cool car for people to go check out. Never have I received so many comments about it, and the work I did to it. It made me feel great. The Mav was smiling the whole day. :) What a perfect day, for a great little car!

P.S. I hope to meet more of you NorCal Mav and Comet owners soon, and if you have any suggestions on where to have a Mini Meet drop me an email or post here. cricket3@pacbell.net
Pics will be coming soon! I really need to get a digital camera, so I can stop having to wait to use up a whole roll of film and getting it developed.
