Oil and temp sensors and teflon tape

I got a set of gauges and new sensors. The directions said to use teflon tape around the sensors. Aren't the sensors electrical and need grounding through the block? Won't the Teflon tape interfere?

 

Yep sure will, use a little pipe sealer goop.

 

I've never had a problem using teflon tape.

Threads will cut through it, grounding won't be a issue.

 

2x on teflon. I never put more than 3 wraps, unless 3 wraps leak. I would think the coolant itself would help ground it, but I never thought about it that far.

 

I'm not big on Teflon tape my self. When used on tapered fittings it can break off in little strands that go places you don't want it to.

 

I always put sensors on right out of the box without any type of sealer. Pipe threads are tapered and self-seal
