Has anyone had any problems installing an oil filter on a 302 after doing the 302->250 swap?
When I try to install the filter it will hit the frame.
Are there any low profile filters than can be used ?
    Thanx
    Peter

Never heard of that one before. You sure you have the correct frame and motor mounts?

That sounds strange to me as well. I've got miles of clearance using a standard Fram PH8A, which is a pretty large filter. Sounds like your motor is sitting maybe too low or off to one side??

    filter prob.

my buddy had the same problem in his 6-8 swap in a 76 mav. he ended up beating in the shock tower and using a shorter filter, not sure what mounts he used, heres a thought instead of changing mounts ,just go to a junk yard and get the 90 deg. filter adapter from a 70's-80's ford van with a v8 it puts the filter facing forward very easy swap one bolt!

    Thanx all

    Thanx for all the response.
Especially MadMav74, at least I know I didn't put the engine in backwards. I might use the shorter filter or get an oil cooler kit which mounts the filter away from the block.

What is your fan to radiator location? If the fan blade is close to the bottom or below the lower radiator core area, you have mount problems.

I know I have mounting problems.:(
The engine sits too high in the engine bay. When I compare it to the EFI pictures in the mian forum mine sits 1.5 inches higher, but I don't quite know what to do about it. I'm hoping that the engine might "settle" after driving it for a while.

The engine wont settle. You have the wrong motor mounts. This happened to a friend of mine. His motor was too high also. Go to the nearest auto parts store & get a new set.
