I got a new "Ford Motorsports "air cleaner. On the bottom is a plastic fitting for a hose conection. Uhh what does it hook to? If I don't hook it up it will suck in unfiltered air. My PVC hose goes to the bottom of my carb.

That is to connect to the breather in the other valve cover. The PCV valve hose to intake manifold sucks fumes out of the crankcase. Fresh air is brought into the crankcase through the breather on the other side of the engine. By connecting the breather to the air cleaner the air drawn into your crankcase is filtered.

your pcv runs to the base of the carb that nipple is designed for the hose from the other valve cover(like the factory style set up/crank case filter in the factory air cleaner):)

I would use it to connect to your fuel vapor cannister.

    motorsport air cleaner

Russ, I have the same ford motorsport aircleaner. Your left side breather hose goes to the air cleaner. I used a piece of heater hose for this. It works but is a little stiff to work with. If you can find a softer hose it will be easier to remove and reinstall air cleaner. If you have a fuel evap canister you will have to drill another hole in the air cleaner and use the plastic connector from the stock air cleaner to hook this up. These air cleaners fit under the hood nice if you have high rise and a carb spacer. They are low profile and let the hood shut without a scoop.

    Listen to Mavaholic...

...That piece is intended to be connected to your charcoal cannisted mounted on the passenger side fender at the firewall.
You should notice that the openings are similar in size.

Where are your fuel vapors vented? did you install a vented cap?

Ooooh, now I have a question...

With the vapor canister gone, can I use the vapor tube (the steel one that comes from the gas tank to where the canister used to be) as a fuel return line for, like, an EFI setup?

    Just wondering,
    Atzy.

P.S.: What's the make and number for a locking vented cap that'll fit my '75? :::AEA

I have the same air cleaner...I used the fitting for crankcase ventilation on the passenger side rocker cover. You can basically use it for whatever you want, vapor recovery cannister OR crankcase ventilation. In any case, one or the other is going to be vented into the atmosphere...
