Old truck

    73 maverick, 2 door
    maybe picking up an old pickup truck this weekend if my chevy sells tomorow, i'm looking at 73 f100, with 360 in it, anything i should be looking out for?

    Look hard at the cab mounts, cab corners and floor pan rust. Jack up the front end and check the king pins if it is a 2wd and the ball joints if it is a 4wd. It will have 4 wheel drum brakes so if you can check to see if they wheel cylinders are good. As for the engine check to see if it clicks a lot from the top end when you start it up and see how long it takes for the clicking to go away. Look at the oil pressure when it is cold and after it warms up, should be some difference but not a lot. Just a few things to look for. I hope this helps. I have a 69 2wd and a 72 4wd so I kinda know what you are in for.
