I have tried to do some research, but not coming up with the exact information that I need: Does anyone have the information on the Original OEM Size of the 1971 Comet GT Wheels. I have between 14 x 6.45 to 14 x 7. Also does any know what exact tires came on the car originally? Firestone White Wall is the best that I have come up with... is this true? I have that D70 x 14 was the option available for the Comet GT... Thanks for your help...
I would say the original wheels could be 14" x 4.5" or 14" x 6". You will need a build sheet to know for sure.
My Comet GT that I bought new had a 302/C4 I ordered it with the smallest tires that were offered. They were 6.45X14 on 4.5" wheels with trim rings and small hub caps. I took it the next week and Had a set of Keystone Classic wheels with D7014 tires installed. I ordered it that way because I knew I was going to change them anyway.Saved a few bucks by ordering it that way. I had those orginal hub caps until about 4 years ago. Tim Keck came up one day and I gave them to him.
