I have an original Corbra intake manifold, part No. S2MS 9424A, with the large CORBRA letters. The right rear carb stud boss has been nicely repaired at some time in the past. This manifold came with a car I bought a year ago. I've heard some very high estimates of what it might be worth, but not by any experts. So for all the experts here, What do you think it is worth? No it is not for sale. Bob
It is an 'over the counter' speed part sold primarily at Ford dealers. Most folks think they are OEM on a Shelby car, but those intakes had a part number, but no lettering like the aftermarket part. Anyway, think of it this way: It amounts to an early 70s Ford Motorsport intake manifold... Just that they didn't call it "Ford Motorsports" at the time. I think that misunderstanding drives up the percieved value of these intakes. You see them all the time on eBay listed as though they are rare and came off a production GT 350... yet there are several of them on eBay at any one moment, and they still get bid up to the moon! The funny thing is that the real production car manifolds that are truely rare are not well marked as such, often go far cheaper than the common over the counter intakes! I have bought a few of those for peanuts, but argued till I was blue in the face with folks over the intakes with "FORD" or "SHELBY" lettering that they didn't come on a production car. Never found one of the marked intakes that was what I consider affordable. These intakes have also been repopped at different times over the years, adding to the confusion. Blue Thunder has rights to them now and I believe they repop them currently. Anyway, just some history tid-bits... Check eBay though, these generally bring 200-400 depending on condition, auction wording, etc... Overvalued IMO, but that doesn't mean much.
