I just replaced my P/S door on my 72 grabber. One of the three rectangular holes on the door itself with the clip for the armrest is not there. There are only 2 rectangular holes. Seems i need to cut a rectangle for the armrest clip. I checked and this is not a 73+ door. everything aligns just right, EXCEPT that one clip... Why is that> i thought all 70-72 doors and armrests were all the same??

    Thanks
    CHaz.

The holes in the armrest I have are 7 3/4" center hole to center hole... The door i have has a center hole to center hole of 4". could it maybe have something to do that i have the deluxe interior and the door i got was maybe for a standard interior and the armrests were differnt??

    Chaz.

Sounds like you might be dealing with doors made to fit different style door handles...

Does it still have the door-opening latch in the same place?

I swapped a door out with the latch attached to the armrest, and put it in my car with the long handle and latch down by your knee. Had to do a bit of cutting, welding, etc to make it accept my parts.

yeah, same handle same location... I think i found the answer on another forum... this door IS for a standard interior, the armrests were smaller. and the deluxe interior had longer armrests... you can goto long armrest to short, but you cant go short to long unless you cut the door for the clip for the armrest..
