Paint colors can be 3 step or you can go 2 step its cheaper paint. I have a color ive researched for my 73 maverick. I have the option of Primer coat, then color with the UV blockers mixed in or the 3 step Primer, base, clear. For the underneath, door jams and engine bay Im using 2 step. For the outside body Im using 3 step.Primer, color and clear mainly because of the graphics that must be seamless for a smooth surface, therefore the clear coat. Any paint shop can give you the advise you need. I recomend NAPA for stock Apps and house of color for 3 step thier clear coat is the best. I used it on my Harley.:)

Id use 3 step. Do the primer, spray the 3 colors, wet sand, then clear.
When you say "3 Colors" just how much of each color and where? What you are talking about is ....Very Very....easy to screw up if its been a long time since youve sprayed paint.:)
