I switched the Grabber to pertronix ignition about 2 years ago,I have been thrilled with the results, does anyone know how long these last,I am thinking of carrying a set of points & condencer just in case (I couldn't find the pertronix in auto stores 2 years ago, bought them at a Ford show), Its working perfect I just like to worry!

I've had my ignitor about 1 1/2 years now, no problems, but like you mentioned I carry a set of points and a condenser already mounted on a breaker plate just in case.

I'm planning an upgrade to one of these myself I would like to use the Ignitor II but I dunno if they make one for the I6, at least Auto Krafters didn't have em but i'll keep lookin. I thought about a Duraspark system out of a junker but I don't really wanna do that unless I have to even though many have told me Duraspark is better.

when I bought mine I couldn't find them in any parts stores, that was @ 2 years ago, they may carry them now,I was going to order them from a Mustang magizine ad ( useally several ads to choose from) but we have an all Ford car show here once a year and a vender had them, I can really tell a difference.

If you shop around you'll find widely varying prices. Summit and Jeg's sell them for $70+, CJ Ponyparts sells them for about $60 and I've seen some other Mustang parts houses selling them for just over $50. Thats for the original version. Since I use mine just to trigger a Mallory HyFire box I didn't need the dwell adjusting capability of the Ignitor II.
