Imagine how much money you could make if you bought one of those portable dynos. You could take it to any car show or event. Even if you didn't make any profit it would be fun to do and you would have your own dyno. And that is really every mans dream isn't it?

hehe, yeah but it'd be tough to make a profit. It was $60 for three runs, on a machine that costs about 20 grand.

Funny you mention embarassing in this thread and you have a Focus. A couple months ago I took the maverick to a Dyno Day Meeting with the local 5.0 Mustang guys. After a whole afternoon of cars putting down 200+ hp to the wheels this guy in a Focus shows up to get his car dynoed to see how many hps his new muffler gave him. I forget what he did but it was about half of what the weakest Mustang did.

MAverick Man, I saw that feature on Hot Rod Tv. How long ago was that filmed? I thought you already had 2 nice mavs but they were saying you were just starting the one that got the 347 in it. Hows that motor run, sounded like it was a strong motor.
I'll let you know what I run after I get this new engine tuned and out to the track.

$ 60 for 3 runs is cheap as hell. Do they usually have those portable dynos at most car shows, or do you just have to get lucky?

This dyno was at Fun Ford Weekend in Commerce, GA.

My car has a best of 13.06@106, with an awful 2.05 60' time. Next mods are a new cam and Cal-Tracs, subframe connectors to go deep in the 12s. With AC and overdrive  ;)

Damnit, ;) I knew someone would ask that. I don't remember exactly, and I lost my dyno sheet. The car wasn't tuned well, I wasn't planning on dynoing it. But I remember the numbers CORRECTED to about 300 flywheel HP and 340 ft-lbs of torque.

I was running mid 13s at the time. My engine is very mild, I just made sure there was no 'weak link' Stock short block and pistons. Stock ported heads, headers, roller rockers, roller B303 cam, bigger valves and upgraded springs.
