I saw the ad too late: sold. I tried every way I could think of to contact the new owner & could not.
For pictures, click link. In the write up you will see high lighted in blue: Ford Pinto Photos. Click that. For bigger pics, click picture.

Jump forward months. I had forgotten the car & had not for one moment thought it could end up in Canada: wrong !

But the car was bought for the BOSS engine, to remove & put in a Mustang (or so I was told).
It sold again to another fellow that built a 302w for it, and put a T-5 in it.
These two fellows damaged a number of things since it came up here.
I paid too much, but really wanted the car.....so loaded it up & took it home !

I have only taken it for one drive, so far.
I also found another BOSS 302..... Drag Pack ! Shelby intake & 2-4s. Much more as well. Buying it from the fan back to the trans tail complete ! Even the oil cooler !

The Alberta boys damaged the rad: will replace.
Guy was racing it in the 1/8th & forgot to lock the hood down..... twice !
Hood & scoop damage. Easy to repair though. Except I'm not sure the hood/scoop will wotk with the 2-4s. May need a new hood and scoop.

I have other plans as well for the car. It will be worked on all winter & with luck (and a lot of money) it will be done by next summer.

What I'm pulling out & selling:

    Fresh bottom end.
.020 over but I do not know the compression. Likely about 10:1 ?
Crane Roller cam (don't know specs)
Roller rockers (or so I was told - I have to check on that)
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake & Edelbrock 600 cfm carb.
    Aluminum water pump.
    Center Force clutch.
    T-5 five speed trans.

Car has 3:91s & the last owner ran 1/8th mile only. Told me it was turning 7:80s .

Thats just cool...I would do a 70s' pro stock pinto with it...If I had the $$/time for the Boss 429 and tube chassis...Of course I would need a pinto and a place to keep it...It definitely a nice piece for a project...Have fun!!!

I'd love one if it looked like that!!! Even less Pintos than Mavericks up here.

    Thanks guys !

This car is in mint like shape, inside and out.
I will be doing a number of things to it though.
To start there was a few paint chips & the hood & scoop damage. I've put the word out for a "new" NOS like hood. I want a lower profile on the scoop anyway.
I have the Drag Pack BOSS all lined up. When it gets here I'll have the best BOSS man/builder I can find to go over the engine & see what is what.
Going to change the mid motor mounts for solid front mounts for more header room tight along the engine sides.
I need to check the diff out. I think it was built with equal length axles & the yoke looks way off center to the right.
This may explain the bad drive line vibration at 90 mp/h & up. Could be the 302w has a bad balance, or drive shaft as well. All will be checked out before the new BOSS goes in.
A few other small mods & after all the mechanicl work is done, new paint.
Oh ya..... the M/T street/strip on the back are 11" wide.
The tubs look like they will handle 20" - 22" wide with no problem. So you just KNOW what will happen there ! (ok, whats up with the bold stuff ?)

Nice Pinto. I'm glad you got a hold of the one you wanted. I wonder how many Maverick owners also own Pintos?

    I have a 75 hatch with a 2.3 turbo under construction.

I know a fellow in CA that may sell the turbo he had built for a 76 Pinto.
I was going to buy the car & all the other stuff had to go with it.
Found the above one so will not be getting it.
He lost interest in the project, so the engine was never run.

If interested in a 302w & T-5 shoot me a PM. It has about 600(ish) miles on it.
Selling due to the BOSS 302 I found for it. Going to look cool with the Shelby intake & two 4s under the hood !

    Hell yeah it will!

So he might sell the turbo? Do you know what model turbo? I have a T04B with a .82 exhaust A/R right now but it might be a little wrong for my combo. I was trying to keep it water cooled too :)

Also what are the details of the 302? I have a friend with a 68 Stang that is possibly looking for a motor.

I'd have to root through old e-mails to see info on the turbo. Will get back to you on this.
The 302w & T-5 is a good engine & trans at the price, but shipping a "common" 302w to your area would not likely be worth it ?
    I'll PM details on it.....
