hi hello i have a 1970 ford maverick and it has a 1973 complete suspension in the front have drum brakes , this is the problem i open it to change the shoes and when i do i see a lot of damege i take the wheel bearing out and everything and theres a broken rings when i toke off the drum and i no see any other wheel bearing i know it has to be 2 wheel bearings the inner and the outher but i dont see anything i toke pictures so some one can help me whit this thank you
Looks like a lack of maintenance on the bearing caused them to fail - (no grease). I hope the threads on the spindle are ok. If the threads are OK - some new bearings, bearing races and a brake kit should get you back on the road. Do not forget to do both sides of the car.
thank you acornridgeman , the think is i dont know were is the inner wheel bearing the outer wheel bearing is right there i toke a picture of it , but i dont know what are all this damge o rings that it come out when i toke off the drum if you see the picture number 3 picture i don know were those rings come from and the inner wheel bearing to order it and put some new ones
those o rings are the seals? and whats happen with the inner wheel bearing it is just desapeair? or does not have one cuz in the spindle theres something what can spin but i dont know what it is
Yes, you are looking at what is left of the seal and bearing pieces. And the thing on the spindle that spins is probably part of the old bearing too. The rest of the bearing fell out on the road when it all failed and came apart.
