Hello to all I just got my hands on a 1977. But it is in really bad shape but, I have the will and the drive to get it in shape. I just lack the knowledge, does anyone know of a good book to help me restore this ugly duckling? Now I know it is not going to happen over night but, I can't wait till I turn it into my SWAN.
Beast, Congrats on the 'new' Mav. You're question leads to many other questions. Decide what you want to use the car for (weekender, everyday-driver, strip only, re-sale?, etc.,). How much money are you willing to spend on the car? How long before you want it driveable? What shape is it in now? What needs attention the quickest ( RUST!!). On and on and on- I don't know of a particular book that will guide you specifically for Maverick's, but I'm sure you could search through Amazon.com and find generic "how to resore older cars". Before you even start restoring, the number one mistake people (me) make is not having a detailed plan before the first wrench is turned. Having a good plan at the beginning will save you from a LOT of $urprise$ down the road. Good Luck, Rick
Thanks I don't have any real plans for the car, I know it will be street legal. I know that the last thing I'm worried about is the looks, I'm going to get the eng. up to top spped first them the body then the inter... That is what I know. It alll ride on my wife. She is trying to get a 1965 ford fairline... That will tell what is going on with this car....
