None currently, first car was a 71 mav
Hey folks, I just found this board today, and thought I'd join up and pop in.

    A little background:
When I was 16, way back in 1993, I purchased my first car: a 1971 Maverick sedan with the inline 6 for $250. That thing was a tank, and ran forever and a day. However, my sister was in desperate need of a cheap car, and I was drooling over some other cars, so in my foolish youth, I sold her the Mav. Well, 1 year later, her husband had not changed the oil once, and burned out the engine, then junked the car.

As I've gotten older, I've grown to miss my big white tank with the green cloth interior and AM radio, so I've decided to try and find myself a new Mav to play with. I'm hoping for one in decent running condition, but that's a little on the cheap side. I'm hoping to learn a bit more than I know about vehicle restoration, and I remember my Mav as being incredibly simple to work on.

So, here are my questions: Are there any Mav owners here in the Chicago area (I'm in Wheeling, one of the northern burbs)? I'm hoping to find some places where I might find just such a beauty as I'm looking for, and also hoping to find some folks who share the same interest. Anybody?

TIA, folks, for any help you can give.

    John
