    Hi all,
I have a factory A/C car, and as many of you know the Mavs and Comets with A/C never came with radiator overflow catch containers. The ones used on other Mavs and Comets won't work in the same location because the a/c hoses go through the radiator support in that particular location. I was wondering if anyone had put a catch container on their a/c cars and where they put them. What did you use? Stock from another Mav in different location, aftermarket, etc?? Thanks and pics would be great if you have them!

I have actually used an empty antifreeze/coolant container with great success...You can secure it with zip-ties...

If your not using your window washer, you can use that as a catch can.

I got one of the recirculating Jaz plastic bottles from Jegs. Mounted it inside the left wheelwell just behind the headlight bucket. The hose from the radiator goes through a hole in the apron. It seemed to make a difference cooling, I guess because there is no more air in the system. And no one even knows it's there.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! As far as the windshield washer tank goes, I am using that, so I can't convert that. Tim, the pic would be great if you could. Thanks for the suggestion as well Daniel, I'll look into that, and the hidden idea is very cool as well. I definitly want a recirculating one as well. Talk to you later.

I saw the Jaz one. It looks good, but what do you mount it with, and how do you know when it's at a good level and the radiator's full. Do you fill the Radiator to max and then while driving it balances out? Thanks.

The Jaz bottle has a mounting boss down the side with two 1/4" nut inserts. I placed the bottle as high as I could inside the fender. I chose natural instead of a colored bottle so I could more easily see the coolant level. Fill the radiator completely and the bottle 1/3 to 1/2 full. When the engine's hot the bottle will have a few more ounces in it. When the engine cools down coolant is sucked back into the radiator. You have to make sure you have the right kind of radiator cap that does that.

I installed a new Jaz bottle last night. Ran the braided line to it and it looks great! Ford Blue also (well, almost) let me know if you want a pic!

Best one I've seen was a factory catch can/washer reservoir combo (all in one) from a early '80's mustang. Looked factory, yet did the job well.

Take the standard catch can and bolt it in the forward wheel well area on the opesite side of the engine side panel. Mine has been there for years. Out of site out of mind unless there is a cooling problem. The hose comes through one of the existing holes.

Don't know if I am late on this. There are some photos of my JAZ recovery tank on a post on this board dated 2003-15-18. Subj is Recovery Tank.

Hey guys, thanks for the further suggestions. A couple weekends ago I picked up one of the sweet aluminum cylindrical catch cans. It looks good, and when I eventually get my A/C going, it won't be in the way of the filter/dryer lines either. Thanks again.
