My rear right coil spring has been making a squeaking and knocking noise when I go over a bump. I have narrowed it down to the rear coil spring, though I have ordered new bushings for the leaf spring, and replaced the shock absorber on that side. The spring on the other side seems to have some sort of sleeve or bushing on the top to prevent noise, but I have looked and can't find rear coil springs let alone additional mounting parts for them. (This is on the 77 Comet) Any Ideas for a good work around or where I could find OEM parts? I've tried Rock Auto, napa, auto zone, etc.

    Rear coil spring?

Take a picture of what you are looking at. Maybe someone added a helper spring kit, but from the factory, there are no rear coil springs.

If you have coil springs in addition to the leafs on the rear, they are an aftermarket add on helper spring.
    I think.

Yup, just google helper springs and that's what I'm looking at. The car had a trailer hitch added along its life years before I bought it, so that was probably why originally installed. I may just replace them with new ones even though I've removed the trailer hitch (The car rides fine with them), or remove them all together than.
    Thanks!
