so my friend is swapping engines in his '91 nissan. he has the current engine pretty much disconnected from the car, rad out, battery out, you name it. but he left the fuel line hooked up.

to release the pressure on that car you need to pull the fuse for the fuel pump and run the engine untill it burns off all the fuel in the line and dies.

i havent seen his progress in person but he tells me the engine bay is way too stripped to make it easily start and run again.

the only thing i can think is to grab a fuel line, close your eyes, look the other way and yank it off:D

but i know thats probably not the best idea:naughty:

    so, any suggestons?:hmmm:

    thanks

If you cant run the car, your gonna have to pop a line and make a mess unless it has a test port on the fuel rail(schrader valve)then you could hook up a cheap fuel pressure tester and release it through the tester.or push the valve in the schrader valve(its like a tire valve stem)and release the pressure that way.Either way its gonna make a small mess fi you cant catch the fuel in someting.

ok i'll ask him about it.

a mess under the hood or the ground really isnt a big concern so its all good.
