There's a screw in the center of the crank on my 73, I would assume a 70 would be the same though.

There is a Phillips head screw hiding under a very thin (read: bendable) cover that is held in place with adhesive. Gently pop that off the center of the handle and you will have access to the screw. I believe these covers disappeared in '73.

I was able to re-install my covers without adding any more adhesive. This stuff stays tacky for a long time. I used a small pick to pry the cover off.

No worries. If you bugger them up, you can live without them. If you can't live without them, they are still available for about $1.50 each.

AutoKrafters sells them in their Maverick catalog on pg.15. Most other Mustang/Ford vendors would also carry them.

Glad you asked this question because I couldn't figure it out either :) I was taking the door panel off and had to stop and come in to search the forum for the answer :)
