with a newer one Our old white '98 Crown Vic Interceptor is getting a bit road weary and in need of a major tune-up, minor repairs and detailing, so we're retiring it as our primary car... It's now going to be back-up for it's replacement..... A black 2000 CV Interceptor This was a rare administrator's car, so, no spotlight, no screw holes in the dash, or light and antenna holes in the roof and trunk lid, but it's a genuine P71, so we get all the cop car advantages without the usual retired cop car damage left behind when they're taken out of service. I've already ordered a black Interceptor mesh grill for it, and it's going to get the dog dish caps and rings set-up for the wheels from the '98, along with the 265/50/16 BF Goodrich tires. Eventually, it's going to get a set of 17 inch black Bullitt style wheels with 225/55/17 tires and I'm going to see if I can find a way to cleanly black-out the front and rear chrome strips and replace the chrome door handle bases with black ones for more "stealth" look. We were hoping for a 2003 or newer, but this one had alot lower milage than the newer P71's we looked at, the price was really good, and I couldn't pass up an extremely clean, well maintained administrator car that hadn't been abused. .
Yeah, I've got them on the white Vic now.....gives it a more "muscular" look, but near the same diameter as the factory 225/60/16's so it doesn't mess up the "certified calibrated" speedometer reading. Big problem, BF Goodrich just quit making that size, and no one else does. I'm buying up as many good used ones as I can find now. .
