I am a total noob at audio, but I was tired of the low volume and low quality with the stock sound setup (also only AM radio), so I replaced the stock radio with this:

It is a 30-Watt AM/FM/Cassette Receiver. It was cheap and had fm and an aux jack, so i bought it. I like the quality of it, but the volume is very limited because of the stock speaker (I'm also tired of only hearing the right side of many of the beatles songs). I'm going to replace that with a 5x7 Stereo Dual Voice Coil Speaker:

and two of these 6 1/2" 2-Way, Black Chrome Poly 100 Watt Speakers will go in either the kick panels or the rear, above the seat: Would they fit in the kick panels? It says they have a top mounting depth of 2"

Do you guys think that radio will have enough power to run all three speakers with no problems? Also, do you guys think that it would be better to put the 6.5" in the back or the kick panels? I'm in no way looking for perfect audio, just good enough so that when I roll the windows down, it is still easily audible.

I don't think 6-1/2" will fit the kick panels. I bought some 5-1/4" (?) but I have not installed them yet.

You will find that the "radio" will be the severe weak link in your system. It will work, but won't have the best sound in the world. Definitely better than the factory radio.

I have I think 5.25 in the kickpanels and 6x9's in the back. Sound is great. But as Craig said, without an amp sunning the speakers the sound will be a little tinny still but its a huge improvement.

Im w/ the rest of the group. I put 5 1/4 in my kick panels and they took quite a bit of effort. Also I had quite a time cutting arounf the plastic panels arnd the speaker. Acutually I still hve to cut arnd the pass side. I put them in abt 6-8 weeks ago. If u look at some of my pic's u'll maybe able to see them. I wud put those 6 1\2"s in the rear. When u say 30 watts u probably mean 30watts peak; not RMS - there is a difference in these ratings. RMS is the real deal but most rate peak.
Lastly, in my opinion anything over 5 1\4 is a real challenge and probably in the realm of diminishing returns. NOT WORTH THE EFFORT...
