Does anyone know of or has for sale a flat or a grabber hood to fit the johan model. I got one that needs a hood. Thanks Chris:bananaman
I have a flat one, but it isn't for sale. There is also a cowl hood that is floating around too. I got both of them off Flea-bay...
I have five resin Grabber hoods and I'm trying to get more so I can sell them. I'm having 71 and 72 1:25 hood decals done now.
I have two of those Grabber hoods but intend on using them both. I'd like to get some of those hood decals when you get them ready Chuck. (I forget who it was that I got the hoods from but it was somebody here on the board)
Really? I don't remember seeing the Grabber hoods on Perry's site. It took me MONTHS to get mine and no telling when I can even get any more. I'll try to remember to post it when I get the Grabber hood decals done.
It took MONTHS to get mine. That's why I don't want to sell any until I get more. I have plenty of use for five! I checked the Perry's Resin website and I don't see Grabber hoods listed. They do have the regular, flat hood.
I still need both a flat and a grabber. I have 2 models now that both need hoods. Also if anyone has a spare rear bumper, taillights and the glass out of a johan kit I would buy them. Thanks
Chuck, Any chance you could post a pic or two of one of those hoods you have? I'm thinking about trying my hand at turning out a master for a resin mold (for a Grabber hood, of course), and I'd be interested in seeing how high the bar has been set by those that have gone there before. Thanks for considering this request. John B
how do you guys feel about perry's stuff? i was thinking about ordering a whole kit but thats alot of money for something that could be crap. i figure i'd pay that much for a vintage kit but would feel guilty about actually building it
Chuck, Hope someone else can help you to post those pics. I'm afraid that wouldn't be my forte. I have started on that hood master. If it turns out to be worth copying (I'll find out how to post pics too, and put some up when I get donethe hood, for feedback from my Maverick peers) I'll either try to make a mold myself and make resin hoods available cheap to fellow message board members, or I'll send the master to Perry of Perry's Resin (He's a Canadian too, and has expressed an interest in getting his hands on a decent Grabber hood master). Good luck with the pics. John B
The Perry's Resin stuff I've bought has been excellent quality. I've tried to work with him to do some Maverick stuff too. He's expressed interest but basically says he's way far behind so who knows when he'd actually get to it. Good luck though and keep us all posted on your progress on your master. The resin Grabber hoods I got were excellent; I just can't seem to get any more... I'll post a photo if someone tells me how.
