It all depends on what your look you are going for. I put some aluminum rims off a 2000 Taurus on my 75, looked pretty good.

    gret idea

:) just what i needed to hear, would love to put some good looking rims on the comet, $$$ isn't that hard to grow, is it? in other words, just what kind of cheap rims are there for swaps. craig said bolt pattern is 5x4.5, but a cheap set of rims would be great.:D

Mav5946; did you have any problems with backspacing on the Taurus rims? They have about a 5.5-6" backspace on them, and I thought they would get the suspension. If you have a pic, post it or pm me. I would be very interested in seeing them. BTW, I work at the factory that builds the Taurus/Sable here in Atlanta.

    Thanks,

    Earl

There is no clearence problem. I had to by lug adapters for it, so I just got them 2" wide. I do have some pics, will get them up next week (the digital camera is not mine, its a loner) I am taking some other pics of the 70' with the coil-overs, ladder bars and new motor and then I will get them on here.

Hey John, looks sharp. $135 for a set? How thick are they? I've been wanting to put the Mustang ten hole wheels on my 4 lug 71 but the best price I got for adapters was $65 each. They need to be 1 1/2" thick due to the 5" back spacing these wheels have. I bought a piece of aluminum yesteday and am going to try & make them myself. Check with your guy & see if they have a set to go from 4 lug 4 1/2" circle to 4 lug 4 1/4" circle. Thanks

    My Taurus Wheels....

....I didn't realize that they had that much backspacing.

John, that's not the Maverick with the new motor in it right?

That's a good price on those spacers. Might have to get a set of those myself for a future project.. Can you email or post the phone number of the place where you got them?
