Old speakers had a thin layer of foam in front of them.

When I blew them, I only had a choice of 2 models, so I chose the one with the less harsh "S"s and high end.

When installed, the S is still pretty harsh, but the foam is gone (Best Buy installer threw it away).

I have toned down the high end on the equalizer, but the S is still harsh.

Any suggestions? If I need to replace the foam, where can I find it? Is it a special kind of acoustic foam?

I would go have a little "talk" with the store manager and someone would be coming up with a replacement!

My best suggestion is to go hit one of the audio boards on the web and ask what their suggestions would be. I'm sure some one has run into the problem and has a fix for it.

True, it is the audio section for THIS board but what I was thinking of is one of the sound competition type of boards.

I figure with all the installs they've got going on at any given moment on one of the competition type of boards someone has to have run across your problem or know how to fix it.
