its great. i have xm2go. its like a walkman. it came with all kinds of adapters for use in the car, the home, and to just cary it along with you. it has recording abilities and alot of other features. i got it 4 years ago. alot has chagned i dont know if its still avaiable.
my car came with it free for 3 months. I didn't renew it. I am not saying it was bad but my XM radio had some ads, it wouldn't work on most sunday mornings, it broke up sometimes if it was cloudy or I was in a garage (obviously). Also, there are some really good radio stations in LA so I don't need XM radio.
ya thanks we looked at the xm2go. but thay say this is a stand alone xmp3 radio that will play on the mav radio then can take it out to the job an stuff with the ear buds. my big prob is that the xm peaple on the phone dont come from san diego or dallas.
I've had XM in the semi for about 5 years now. It was much better before the merger with Sirus. There are some supposedly "commercial free" channels, but they have a lot more bs talk on them since the merger. They have replaced all the XM exclusive channels with the Sirus junk, and I don't care for it. If I had wanted a Sirus, I would have bought one. And probably the worst of it all, they want XM subscribers to pay extra for channels that Sirus subscribers get with their subscription for no extra cost! If it weren't for the couple of channels that I can't get on regular radio like Fox News Channel and the Radio Classics channel, I would drop mine. A lot of truckers are saying that when their subscription runs out, they are going to drop it. The merger might have been a good business deal, but they should have left the programing excusive to each system. I doubt they will be around much longer unless they get rid of the current management and return programing back to where each was before the merger.
I have also had XM since about 2004. I like it, but agree with the merger comments. They are raising rates next month and are encouraging people to commit to long term by paying for service up front (say 2 or 3 years) at a discounted rate. I'm not sure I want to do that with a company that the whole bankruptcy possibility. I've been thinking of dropping as well. I have two Delphi SkyFi radios.
Mine is paid up for the year, but I'll drop it when it is over. Seems like a lot of bucks for radio.....but then again, it is nice not to have to change channels when travelling.
