so im toying around with the idea of saving up for anouther car, one that gets good gas mileage (unlike the mav....), doesnt look like a box, cheap (being that i am still in high school) and isnt a honda. i dont really want to go over 6000. ive been thinking about WRX impreza but there a bit on the high end. ive also thought about 240sx's, datsuns, and V6 camaros. Any suggestions?

Hyundai accent manual trans. Cheap and surprisingly fun to drive. Drove my brothers 2 door a bunch and its a good daily car. Sips fuel and has plenty of power with the manual. Cant beat it for the money as far as I am concerned. Easy to repair as well. Been maintaining it for years for him.

Why buy another old car? Get something newer (1999-2003), with 4 doors (cheap insurance). Buying something old, you'll just be where you are now, another project. It's nice to get in a car and go.

How bout a Fox Body Mustang  Its in the budget, a little better on gas. And easy to work on. The problem would be resisting the urge to modify it and stay focused on doing that with the Maverick. the good side is these things seem to have dropped as far as they are going to go and will hold the value and maybe increase when you ar eredy to sell for something else down the road.

If you want better MPG then maybe a Ford Focus ZX3. Little car thats a blast to drive with a maual trans. not too hard or expensive to fix. Has some room to modify. And they handle great if you like winding roads.

    I agree here.

I lucked out and got reliable Mavericks both times :dancing:.

For $6,000 you can get a fine car. I myself, if I ever saved up for a inexpensive vehicle for school/work, I would get myself a little S10 or Ford Ranger. A little truck would be handy and they are fairly fuel efficient.
The little Nissan trucks from the early 90's are real good on gas and reliable, my boss had one for years and it had over 200,000 miles and he used it like a work truck.

I hope to get my dads Colorado when he gets another truck.

    My 2 cents
