Nothing wrong w/ a tempest. My buddy at work has one. Its in real nice shape 2, and would prob bring the 4k if he was to ever sell it. Nice cars either way. Goodluck with your purchase

From what I've seen lately 4K won't hardly get a GTO parts car. If it was the real mccoy somebody got a helluva deal.

Hey Mavtricks...was that in north Phoenix? My buddy was was just telling me on Saturday that he had seen one also. He's a big Pontic and GTO guy and has one in his garage and a 2+2 that he has for a daily driver. If it's the same car he saw, he told me that it was an original 389 4 speed car, but that it was really rough. He thought that it needed a lot of suspension and frame work from what he could see. Also the interior was trash and much of the chrome was gone. Oh and the one that he saw, the guy wanted $6500 for it. He said that it made him feel better about his GTO! If it makes you feel any better, I always figure that if you miss out on a deal like that it wasn't meant to be, and another one will come by at another time.

In 1965 you can still clone a GTO and nobody will know. There are tons of GTO's here and the guys tell me that 1966 was the first year that you could tell by the vin that a gto was a real gto. I have seen several 65 Lemans be turned into a gto by these guys. I would say somebody savvy about gto's stold that car. A dude who is into these cars that I have known since grade school has been making a killing on ebay off of the 1965 cars. I dont like him and never did, but he has made a fortune on those cars.
