What size speaker have you guys been able to fit in there. My '73 has a factory drilled pattern behind the panel. Almost looks like a 5-3/4" or maybe 6-1/2". Any experience?

i used high frequency 2 inch horn tweeters in the kickers, and 6.5 inch woofers in the back, with two 10 inch subs in a ported box in the back..

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
In the front kick pannels 4 inch speakers fit perfect. I'd suggest a mid rage in that area and place a tweeter in the air duct.. however a plain two will will work fine too. The hole in the body of the car is already cut for that size. Dont forget it depends on magnet on back side.. if its too big it will stick out and will not look flush... unless you like the getto look.

Also the rear deck lick is already open for 6x9's

And like expjames91 said you can always put a sub box in the rear. Bigest dimentions you can put in the rear (of course no spare tire) is 36x13x13. I had 12 inch Kickers in the rear trunk up untill a year ago... pull them out becuase of the weight!

Good luck and dont go deaf

    huh? what?

I put a set of pioneer 2 way 3 1/2 inch in the air duck i had to trim the top of the grill. The back of the speaker is in the air duck so it makes the duck part of the speaker. sound great clear mid's and highs i have one Pioneer IMPP 10" in the trunk. Cherwin Vega 4 way 6x9's in the back deck

    In dash speaker

Has any one tried upgrading the in dash single speaker with a pair of speakers. I know they have these for Mustangs...how difficult would this be for our cars?

Fred; I have a pair of 3.5" speakers in the dash grill, and they work just fine. I made a board out of fibreboard, and mounted them with the stock screws. Works out fine, and sounds a lot better than just the back speakers. Give it a try. The Mustang speakers work fine, just not too good a quality. They are, however, cheap. Get them, put in better speakers, use the mount. Let us know how you made out,

    Earl

Behind my front kickpanels I have 6 1/2'' speakers. In my back dash I have 2 6x9's mounted from the bottom. I just bought some stuff to re-do my back dash, and plan to cut holes for 4 6x9's to be mounted from the top. In the trunk, I have 2 Pioneer IMPP 10's. I had two 12's, but the 10's take up less room. I didn't do anything but disconnect the dash speaker. Preston
