I was wondering if anyone had the dimensions for a Maverick steering column, and the dimensions for a 71-73 Mustang or Cougar. The reason I ask is because they look VERY similar from the pics I have seen, and I would like to know how different they are. Has anyone put one of these year Mustang columns in a Mav? Thanks.

Cant help ya but I am curious as to why. I'm guessing its because of them being noncolumn shift units. If so, thats a pretty good idea since the Comet/ Maverick ones are almost nonexistant.

Yep, my main reason was because of the fact that the Maverick/Comet floor shift columns are practically non existant. I don't think I need one now, but was just wondering how close the dimensions were between the two. The Mustang ones would be a little easier to find.

you could try a early 70's torino/fairlane, the guy that took my 70 fairlane said that he sold the colums to maverick guys.. not sure how true that is, but worth a look

I was wondering if you could just change the collar (all the pieces between the steering wheel and the dash) from a Mustang, or a Torino, or a Granda etc? I would imagine the rest of it is different. Does anyone have the parts laying around to give it a shot? I'd like to know.
