Guys and gals; I am looking for a good source for a rebuilt or new stock steering gear. Seems like the usual suspects (AutoZone, Advance, etc.) don't even carry them, and the folks at AK need about 6 weeks to rebuild it, at an outrageous price. If anyone has any ideas, pls let me know. I would rebuild it myself, but don't have the slightest idea of what to do or what tools would be required. Thanks,

    Earl

Try Meridian Auto Parts at 1 -888-275-2525 or http://www.meridianautoparts.com . They may have a kit or have a 'relatively' inexpensive rebuilt one.

Charlie Ping who is a moderato at www.mustangsandmore.com, owns both a Maverick and an early Mustang. You might want to PM him here ("Charlie") or at his site ("CPmaverick").

The Mustang (or other) and Maverick boxes may interchange.

    Good Luck,

    Rick
