My little '76 Maverick needs a new motor, original was 250, but i am thinking about dropping a 302/351w into it...any suggestions on which to choose? I do a little fabrication work, so the motor mounts won't be a problem, but i would still need the radiator and all the 'extras.' Problem is, its a 1976 and I want to turn it into a grabber...any help/advice is appreciated.

To turn it into a Grabber, You'd have to find a hood, spoiler and mirrors. The first two are hard to come by. Also, The spoiler end caps are for the small bumper cars (70-73) so you would have to convert or figure out a way to make the big bumper work. As fas as motor selection. The 351 works much better if you shave the shock towers. This is pretty easy and cheap to do if you can weld.

If you are looking for some conversion parts I have the frame mounts for a 302 and very good radiator, if you are interested.

    Intrested?

Actually, im just getting into fabrication...I might be able to make the mounts, but as far as a radiator goes, yeah, im intrested. We can discuss it in email if you like, cruiserdog@earthlink.net and i usually check it twice a day. nice avatar by the way.

If you are interested in picking up a grabber hood, I have one for sale I can let go at a pretty decent price. It is not perfect, but is decent, I can supply pics. It does not have the inserts, and I was going to buy them from chandler, but just can't afford that right now. Let me know if you are interested. Jeremy
